We are blessed to introduce the Schola at St. Ann Classical Academy, a talented group of students whose beautiful voices enrich our school Masses and elevate the liturgy. The Schola Cantorum —meaning "school of singers"—has deep roots in the Christian tradition, founded in the fourth century by Pope Sylvester I and made popular under Pope Gregory I.
Historically, scholas were composed of highly skilled singers and played a vital role in developing sacred music, particularly liturgical chant. Today, our Schola continues this legacy, fostering both music education and a deepened experience of worship.
